The Gun Show premiered in July 2014 in Chicago at the 16th Street Theatre. This critically acclaimed production was extended and eventually received a Jeff Award Nomination for Best Solo Show. The Gun Show subsequently became a critical hit in Los Angeles in the fall of 2014 and was nominated for 2015 Stage Raw Los Angeles Theatre Award Best Solo Show. It received an East Coast Premiere in Trenton, New Jersey at Passage Theatre. The most recent productions have been in Berkeley, California at Impact Theatre, Santa Barbara at Center Stage Theatre, and Bellingham Theatre Works in Bellingham Washington.
In 2016, director Shawn Lee, performer Vin Shambry, and playwright EM Lewis submitted the script to the CoHo Productions Artistic Council, and the decision was made to bring the show to CoHo Productions for it's Northwest premiere, using CoHo's unique Co-producer model. This flagship production enjoyed a sold-out run at CoHo Productions in Portland, Oregon in the fall of 2016, a successful run at the Logan Festival of Solo Performance in Washington, D.C., and is now prepping to begin touring internationally following a month-long run at SpaceTriplex for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
